People always comment on the fact that I don't choose the easiest of subjects. Someone said recently, "kids? dogs? boy, you pick the hard stuff!" and I guess that's true. So when I need a break to re-charge, I do this. It is kind of nice to photograph something that doesn't try to run away....

What a great group! Grant brought his pets to the studio and we really had the best time. They were terrific to work with -- I'm nominating Thomas, the cat, for Mr. Congeniality. It's obvious that they all love being together and I'm so glad we were able to catch a glimpse of that through the camera. Thanks guys!

I've searched high and low for just the right source for jewelry... and finally found one! All of the necklaces, bracelets, earrings and charms are just the right size and really nice quality. I recently started using a new company for albums and portfolio boxes. The have gorgeous colors, textures and options for albums and portfolio boxes. I ordered a sample for the studio using some of the images from beautiful Sydney's Tutus & Tulips session and I think it's just gorgeous. And evidentally the Finao Company did, too --they've asked my permission to use my portfolio box as one of their samples! So beautiful little Sydney will be on display all over the country and you can say you saw it here first.
These boxes are big and beautiful - and wrapped with a beautiful canvas print of your child (or pet). We can even put your birth announcement design on the back! Each holds 15 matted prints which can be removed and put in a frame or on an easel and then returned to the box at any time. Great for preserving baby's first year memories as you can add portraits from different sessions as your child grows. The box sells for $750 and includes prints, mats and all the design work.
I really pay attention to body language. Just relaxing in front of the camera is really the secret to getting a great portrait. I recently photographed these wonderfully relaxed and playful kids... who really loved each other. I often have to coax the little boys to hug their sisters but these two - wow! They really love being together and it shows! So sweet.
Valencia turned 6 this week - and she celebrated with a Supermodel Birthday Party at the studio! Her two BFFs came along and we had a solid hour of costume changes, dancing (to the latest Hannah Montana CD) and modeling.
