One of the things I really like about the holidays is the way people spend a little more time thinking about those less fortunate. I don't meet many homeless children, but I do meet wonderful homeless dogs through my work with several rescue organizations --most of them in foster care waiting for a loving family to find them and make room for them. I am always struck by the kindness and generosity of the foster families. This is hard work!
These people spend many hours getting them cleaned up and healthy, trained and settled -- and all this just to give them up! Then in their free time, they have to raise money for the food and vet bills. This takes real strength. Happy holidays and many thanks to those who work tirelessly for no compensation, at all hours of the day and night, so that someone else can have a wonderful dog. Those of us who have adopted rescue dogs are truly grateful.
And here are two wonderful boys who need a home...
